Welcome to Directorate of Prosecution , Kerala

The Directorate of Prosecution, Kerala was established in the year 2000 and is functioning under the Department of Home, Government of Kerala. It is headed by the Director General of Prosecution at State level with its head quarters at Ernakulam. The principal function of the Prosecution Directorate is to supervise and streamline the work of prosecution machinery of the State. The Directorate of Prosecution supervises and monitors the conduct of prosecution in various courts by the Deputy Directors of Prosecutions, Assistant Public Prosecutors and Special Public Prosecutors.

Vision of DOP Kerala

 

Ø  To make a positive impact to the criminal justice system through establishment of independent, fair and quality prosecution in the State of Kerala.

 

Ø  To enhance the faith & trust of the public in the prosecution system 

 

Ø  To ensure effective prosecution by taking advantage of innovative technologies and legal acumen

 

Ø  To be responsive to victims and witnesses

 

  Mission of DOP Kerala   

 

    Ø  Effectively and ethically prosecuting all violations of criminal law within the established prosecutorial guidelines, while preserving the rights of the accused             for a fair trial

            Ø  Advocating and protecting the rights of victims of crime and witnesses. 

            Ø  Making efforts for a speedy trial of cases and promoting successful prosecution.

            Ø  Implementing effective and innovative best practises to improve the Criminal Justice Delivery System in the State of Kerala

            Ø  Optimising  use of human resources by imparting periodical training and evaluation under the aegis of Directorate of  Prosecution
